IFC Final to be played behind closed doors

Sunday’s Derry Intermediate Football Championship final between Steelstown and Greenlough (Bellaghy 1pm) and Saturday’s Junior Football Championship semi-final between Craigbane and Magilligan (Dungiven, 2pm) will now be played behind closed doors following updated Covid-19 restrictions that have come into force in the Derry and Strabane Council area.

The new measures include a ban on supporters attending sporting events and restrictions on non-essential travel, and mean that only match officials and designated members of the clubs’ playing squads will be allowed to attend these fixtures.

This decision has been taken to safeguard the welfare of our members and the wider community as we continue to navigate the on-going Covid-19 pandemic and follows discussions between Ulster GAA and the Health authorities.

All tickets already purchased for either game will be refunded.

The IFC Final will be broadcast live on the #WeAreDerry platform, available here.

The Senior Football Championship final between Magherafelt and Slaughtneil, scheduled for Sunday at 4:30pm at Bellaghy, will proceed as planned with a limited number of spectators attending. This game will also be available to watch on the #WeAreDerry platform.
